Reply to John’s comment – love that! I think we had similar things happen here in NZ in the 2nd WW. If it wasn’t organised by the US government it was the generousilty of the US personnel themselves.

Hi Lynn,

may we all find our inner warrior, because that inward struggle to birth that spirit in us is part of our greatness.

My late husband served in Viet Nam, and his warrior spirit, I know you understand this, also showed forth in his battle with cancer. Even though he died (we all will eventually) he won. Cancer could never take away what he was.

I so loved what the Colonel said that I rewound and paused it enough to transcribe it here for you all, “…Often times they had lived more in the short period of time doing the things that they had done than people who get up and go to the exact same job doing the exact same thing year after year after year.”

Which reminded me of the quote from Abraham Lincoln, “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Which then leads to my quote, “May you live until the day you die.”
