Absolutely so true, Lynn. I totally agree with you. I've had to do this 'clearing of energy' in the past and it makes a substantial difference in life.

I was just reading a single lady's comment about baby boomer dating, how we all have more baggage later in life, or perhaps our baggage is just more evident. Indeed, paring down toxic people, I don't want to refer to them as friends, because they never really were, were they? Well, that is so important to do as we progress on our life's pathways and share our lives with life partners and other important relationships.

Cheers!

I'm with Lisa on this one. Indeed, it is most interesting because I was just thinking about how when I have had a loss event and simply stop interacting with unsupportive people in my immediate grief I absolutely have to out of self-preservation, I have only let back in those who were supportive but perhaps lived further away.

An excellent reminder!

Best regards,

I have totally had toxic friends in the past but I have definitely cut them all loose. Great post! Sometimes we need a reminder of this.

I just recently purged some toxic people from my life. it was very painful. as much as i loved them and tried to help them, they were only concerned with themselves and didn't care if they dragged me down with them. i miss them but have way less anxiety now that they are gone.

Yeah. This is one of the sad things in life. Sometimes we move on but our friends have not.

It's a sad thing when someone who claims to love us tries to hold us back. Understandable, but sad.

It's great that you're covering this stuff, Lynn. I've always loved reading what you have to say.
