Success is personal development and confidence. Personal development seems hard to me but now I started reading different books and materials like CD, DVD and its being easy for me. Thanks for your helpful post which will help me in future.

Thinking - yes, my problem is though, that I think about too many things at one time! I have a very hard time focusing on anything. But every now and then I do get that surge and get a lot written in a short spurt.

For me it's always been walks near the ocean. That's my downtime and time to create, brainstorm and dream. Now I find myself in the desert most of the time (probably a great metaphor for the season's of life) but I still find that the time I spend in nature recharges and revitalizes me.

Thinking in silence perhaps? I agree with April on the note taking. It is chock full of ideas and hidden value.

Hi Warrior of Success,

Is it the "thinking" or the "silence" that gives us the answer?

It is also like talking about meditation!

A simple, but extremely effective post!

I find that there are times when I need that quiet, focused conscious thinking space, and other times when I just need to let my unconscious work with what's there, uncover some new associations and they will appear consciously a little later.

I also find that I have brain storms when a rush of ideas will flood into my mind.

Getting a little more control over these processes (even the unconscious ones) makes a great deal of sense.

It's great to take time to think. I tend to do this in two ways. The first is conscious thinking "about" something - an issue, your strategy, a plan of action, resources, decisions etc. The second is "free" (unconscious) thinking where you have a pen and paper and rapidly write down any thoughts that come into your head (you can also do this with mind mapping software) without filtering anything out.

Conscious thinking is good for planning and decision making etc. Unconscious thinking is good for creativity and emotional alignment.

Hi Warrior of Success,

Hi Lynn. I am vaguely recalling that "Thinking" was part of what the author of "What Color Is Your Parachute" described as the work of executives (owners in some manner) versus the work tasks of employees.

I LOVE taking time to think, and frequently TAKE NOTES.

Marvelous points for Success, indeed.

Happy Dating and Relationships,
