Memorial Day. Never Forget!
Posted on May 23rd, 2009 15 commentsI am so proud to be an American and what it stands for.
In America, we can live as King and Queens. We have freedom that most take for granted.
Did you know that immigrants that come to this country( legally) are 4 time more likely to become wealthy than if you were born here? That’s because they see the opportunity and the freedom to work for their dreams.
Some people born here think that they shouldn’t have to work and that they are owed. They are the first to complain without ever having a solution. They never invest time or money to give back.
But, that’s for some other time. Watch this video and remember a vet today!
If you can’t see the screen go here <–
Have a safe weekend.
Enjoy the Journey.

Here, it’s too easy to get by. Many of us have been where these people come from, seen how they live – and recognize how the US appears to be a goldmine – all it takes is a little work. Most Americans would rather complain about what they do not have rather than take any action to achieve that goal.

There is much we take for granted here, traveling in Europe and China gave me a chance to see other ways of living, but it’s easy to forget over time.
Thanks for the reminder

One only needs to briefly travel to a third world country to see just how “bad” people in the US have it. Even the poorest of the poor among us have cell phones, flat screen TV’s, computers and satellite dishes. This sense of entitlement, however, has killed motivation and the entrepreneurial spirit in this country. More people than ever before believe all of this is owed to them.
Sadly, being proud to be an American is currently out of fashion. Your video is a wonderful reminder that freedom is NOT free. To any veteran in our group – or have family members in the military – the Schulz Family offers its sincerest thanks and heartfelt admiration for your service to our nation. Thank you for being willing to lay down your life so that others may live in freedom.

May you have the kind of life that those who fight for the freedom we enjoy have lost their lives in doing so…let it not be in vain
Let us remember them!

Brought back memories of my late husband talking of his service in Vietnam and his father talking about serving in then Navy (I recall it was in WWII and Korea, but it blurs with my late Uncle who I think served only in Korea).
The LIBERTY (liberty is freedom with responsibility) we enjoy here is amazing. Freedom is not gimme. Although it’s become that to many. Liberty brings with it responsibility.
Indeed, many paid and pay the price that we may enjoy that. It’s not all about TV and going to the movies.

Lynn,
What usually blind to us is right in front of us. That proverbial “blinding obvious” scenario.

Nice post, and thanks for the video. We all need to take some time to be thankful for the opportunities this country still offers us. We have a lot of problems, but we have fewer than most other places.

We really have it made compared to most that have ever lived. That doesn’t mean that we need to remain vigilant to retain the freedom that we have enjoyed- it can be taken away from us and it is our job to make sure that it isn’t..
